A Devastating Blow to Our Rights: NWPC Condemns Passage of Harmful GOP Bill

By July 3, 2025No Comments

(Washington, DC – July 3, 2025) The National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC) condemns the passage of President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” and the actions of every member of Congress who voted for it. This sweeping legislation is a devastating rollback of essential protections, slashing funding for health care, social services, education, and reproductive freedom. It prioritizes political grandstanding over the well-being of millions of Americans—especially women, families, and low-income communities.

This is not just a budget decision. It is a targeted, cruel attack on the health and autonomy of millions of Americans. And as always, it will hit hardest in low-income, underserved communities where access to reproductive health care is already scarce.

“This bill is a direct assault on our most fundamental freedoms,” said Deidre Malone, NWPC President. “We cannot afford to be silent while our rights are being negotiated away behind closed doors. We must speak out, organize, and hold those in power accountable for the harm they are causing.”

The National Women’s Political Caucus urges every one of our members, supporters, and allies: look at how your representatives voted. This is a defining moment. We cannot let it pass without consequence. Use your voice. Use your vote. Hold them accountable in 2026. Our future depends on it.
