(Washington, DC – June 12, 2025) The National Women’s Political Caucus is proud to congratulate Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill on her win in the New Jersey Democratic gubernatorial primary. Sherrill would be the second woman governor in New Jersey history, marking a significant step forward for women’s leadership and representation at the highest levels of state government.
“Mikie Sherrill has long been a tireless advocate for women, families, and working people in New Jersey and across the country,” said NWPC President Deidre Malone. “Her win in this primary is a powerful reminder that voters are ready for bold, inclusive leadership that centers equity, justice, and opportunity. We are thrilled to stand behind her as she continues to break barriers.”
“Mikie Sherrill represents the kind of leader NWPC is committed to supporting, and her victory energizes our mission to elect more women to public office at every level,” said NWPC Vice President of Political Planning and Action, Leta Schlosser.
The NWPC has a long history of endorsing and supporting pro-choice, progressive women candidates, and we will continue to stand by Mikie Sherrill in the months ahead as she moves toward the general election.
