Maria Madril Hernandez is serving her second term as Treasurer of the National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC).In this role, she has strengthened fiscal transparency and accountability by overseeing the national budget, quarterly financial reports, and implementing real-time expense tracking systems that empower data-driven decisions. Her leadership emphasizes integrity, foresight, and ensuring NWPC’s resources are stewarded to expand women’s political power nationwide.

Maria also serves as President of NWPC Sacramento, where she leads local efforts to recruit, train, and support pro-choice women candidates. Beyond her caucus leadership, she is Executive Director of the Central Valley Movement Building Organizing Institute, where she advances education justice and equity campaigns across California’s Central Valley.

With more than 25 years of experience as a community organizer and nonprofit leader, Maria bridges grassroots movement-building with political strategy. A graduate of the HOPE Leadership Institute and Leadership California’s Issues & Trends program, she is committed to building inclusive leadership that reflects the diversity and strength of our communities.
