(Washington, DC – August 18, 2026) I am deeply saddened by the passing of Carol Comito, a dedicated leader, advocate, and valued member of the National Women’s Political Caucus.
I recruited Carol to the NWPC Board to lead our diversity efforts. I had the privilege of serving alongside her as an officer of the NWPC, where she served as Vice President of Diversity and Outreach. Carol understood that our organization is stronger when every woman has a voice and as seat at the table. She was committed to expanding the Caucus’ reach, building relationships, and ensuring that diversity and inclusion remained central to our mission.
Carol brought her passion, perspective, and commitment to our leadership team, and I was grateful for the opportunity to work with her. Her service to the National Women’s Political Caucus and her dedication to advancing women in the political process will not be forgotten.
On behalf of the officers, members, and supporters of the National Women’s Political Caucus, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Carol’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and working with her. Carol will be greatly missed, but we will remember her through the work she cared so deeply about – opening doors for women, strengthening diverse voices, and continuing the fight for equal representation.
