National Women’s Political Caucus on President Trump’s Joint Address

By March 5, 2025No Comments

(Washington, DC – March 5, 2025) During his Joint Address to Congress, President Trump continued to demonstrate his Administration’s blatant disregard for the rights and well-being of women, marginalized communities, and working families across the nation during his Joint Address to Congress on Tuesday evening. His rhetoric was filled with empty promises and veiled attacks that undermine decades of hard-fought progress.

The Trump Administration has already made clear its intent to erode reproductive freedoms and block access to crucial resources that support communities in need. Their intensified attack on diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI), and accessibility initiatives are an attempt to undo decades of progress made toward a more equitable and just society and close doors of opportunity for many in this country.

“We refuse to stand by as this administration continues to turn back the clock on our rights,” said NWPC President Deidre Malone. “Donald Trump may try to silence us, but we will not be ignored. We will fight back – by mobilizing, organizing, and electing pro-choice women who will champion policies that protect and empower all of us.”

The NWPC remains committed to resisting this administration’s dangerous agenda. We will continue to amplify women’s voices, hold lawmakers accountable, and work to ensure that those who believe in equality and justice are elected at every level of government.
