Kate McDonald
National Program Director
Kate McDonald has been with the National Women’s Political Caucus since January 2020. She leads the Caucus’ National office in all its efforts, including candidate and partner relationships, production and maintenance of the national candidate data tracking system, state chapter membership tracking and outreach, the recruiting, hiring, and managing of NWPC interns, social media management and content production, and more.
Kate started her career as an AmeriCorps member in Austin, Texas with Literacy First where she taught literacy to K-2. Through community partnerships, she worked with the Girls Empowerment Network, hosting group sessions with young girls focused on female empowerment. Kate also worked with iACT as a refugee mentor, supporting newly-arrived refugee families with their transition into their new lives in Texas. Before working with NWPC, Kate worked as an Operations Coordinator with PAVE, a local education nonprofit in Washington, DC.
Kate earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a focus in Gender Studies from Stony Brook University. She currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her partner and two rescue dogs, Frank and Maya.
