Tracy Van Houten

Tracy Van Houten is a Spacecraft Systems Engineer for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and a STEMinist – an activist, advocate, and mentor for women and those who’ve been historically excluded from Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math fields. Tracy is a Life Member of the Society of Women Engineers and reguary speaks on the vital importance of STEM professionals engaging in government and campaigns.

When there is a problem, women are the solution! As such, Tracy supports dozens of women candidates every election cycle and is a dedicated member of NWPC San Gabriel Valley, having served as President and in a variety of VP roles (1st VP, VP of Membership, VP of Candidate Support, Education, and Training), as well as representing her caucus on the NWPC California State Board for 7 years.

In 2017, Tracy campaigned to be the first woman engineer in the U.S. House of Representatives. She has served as an elected Assembly District delegate to the California Democratic Party, as an appointee of the State Assembly Speaker of the House on California’s Office of Oil Spill Prevention and Response Technical Advisory Committee, and currently as the Speaker’s appointee on California’s Catastrophe Response Council, managing the $21B Wildfire Fund.
