(Washington, DC – January 20, 2025) The National Women’s Political Caucus mourns the insurmountable loss of Cecile Richards, a trailblazing advocate for women’s rights and equality. Cecile’s unwavering dedication to advancing reproductive freedom, gender equity, and justice inspired countless individuals to take action and demand a better world. Her leadership as the president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America transformed the landscape of healthcare and advocacy, ensuring millions of women had access to critical resources and care.

Cecilewas more than a leader. She will be remembered as a champion for women and a tireless advocate for a more equitable world. Her work galvanized movements that continue to fight for the rights and representation of women in all facets of society. Whether championing reproductive health, advocating for equal pay, or fighting for political parity, Cecile’s legacy is one of courage, resilience, and an unshakable belief in justice.

As an organization dedicated to achieving equity for women in political and public life, the NWPC is deeply grateful for Cecile’s lifetime of contributions to our shared mission. We extend our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.
